Postnatal support
I don’t like to be prescriptive in the work I do. If it’s important to you, it’s important to me. I’m here to listen and to help.
My role as a postnatal doula is very varied and depends on the needs of the family I’m working with. Each day is unique and revolves around the mother and baby. Babies change a lot in the first year, the support you need in the early weeks won’t be the same as what you need at five months or a year.
If you don’t know what you need, I have this deck of cards that may prompt you to remember what needs doing. After a few visits I’ll get get to know you and what’s important.
Empty/load the dishwasher, laundry, up-sizing baby clothes, running errands, shopping, meal preparation, lchange the bedsheets or simply hold your baby so you can have space, time, rest a shower, something to eat or exercise. In addition I’m here for your emotional support. Postnatal days can be long and lonely, I provide company, someone to talk to about how you’re feeling or suggestions on what series to stream next. I can help you find the right local services for you, perhaps you need a womens health physio, an osteopath or a playgroup to help you find your tribe, I can help you with all that.
I don’t replace a supportive partner or family.
