Hi, I’m Sarah

I’m a birth and postnatal doula who is passionate about providing practical support to families around Reigate, Surrey. I’m a mum of two with a background in engineering and operations management. I love jigsaw puzzles, music, babies and biscuits. I volunteer at Cafe Milk in Redhill and on the postnatal ward at East Surrey Hospital. I bring warmth, honesty, and practical help as you move through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

I love getting to know the families I work with. By spending time together, sharing in the excitement of your unique experience, and to help with the preparations. I’ll support you in filling knowledge gaps with clear, evidence-based resources so you can make choices that are right for you.

I want to understand your vision-what is important to you. I want to know what makes you laugh, what helps you relax, and what situations might feel triggering. All of this helps me learn how to guide you back to calmness when you need it.

Reminding you to stay hydrated, manage pain, capture photos, minimise interruptions and advocate for your wishes. If necessary I will liaise with NICU for updates and support expressing milk to protect your feeding journey.

Your overnight companion, I will create an oxytocin boosting, comfortable environment to encourage bonding, support feeding, promote healing. Allowing your partner to comfortably return home for sleep or older siblings, safe in the knowledge that you are well cared for, with direct communication for sharing updates.

Bringing with me, a warm nourishing meal to help restore your energy and accelerate your recovery-something far more comforting and sustaining than the simple toast you’ll be otherwise offered.

    Postnatal Support

As a postnatal doula my primary goal is to ease the transition of becoming a parent for you and your family. Ensuring you feel calm and confident during the early weeks and months after the baby's arrival.

Every family has unique needs, and these change with the development of your baby.

What does Postnatal Support feel like?

In the early weeks I may be putting the kettle on, providing you with time to bond with your baby, knowing your household is running smoothly just as you like it, whilst you focus on yourself and your new arrival. Guided entirely by you, I can support with feeding, signposting you to local services, running errands or providing company whilst encouraging you to rest and recover from birth and pregnancy.

At 3 months postpartum, it may be caring for your baby so you can sleep or shower. By six months you may want support with weaning or keeping in touch days.

Who knows what else life will throw your way?

Whatever it is, I’ll walk beside you and we navigate it together.

I love to support families at any point from a positive pregnancy test until your baby’s first birthday, and sometimes beyond. Whether for a few weeks or months, my joy comes from knowing I’ve helped make someone’s day a little easier.

    At Home or In Hospital

I can also cover the “day shift” for your partner whilst you’re in hospital after birth so they can return home for older children, to shower, sleep, eat or fetch items you need. Alternatively it may be that you and your baby has been admitted for illness, I can bring food, keep you company, or just allow you to find some space to process your experience.

Whatever it is, you just need to ask.

Postnatal Gift Card

Gift to remember

Sending flowers is a lovely idea, but who is going to put them in a vase or throw them out when they wilt. Choose not to overwhelm new parents with another task to do; get them the gift of a listening ear and practical, hands-on help from someone who can meet their needs. A perfect gift from extended family who can’t be around to help, or a baby shower collection from friends and colleagues.

Get what you need

Why not ask friends and family to contribute to a Reigate Doula Gift Collection? Whether it’s for your birthday, baby shower or new baby gift, all funds will go to one code for you to redeem against your bookings, and can be topped up at any time. To arrange contact me on 07739324266

Motherhood

Matrescence is a physical, psychological, and emotional transition a woman experiences when becoming a mother. It's a developmental passage that includes hormonal shifts, physical changes, and significant shifts in identity, relationships, and responsibilities. The process is often compared to adolescence, as it involves a period of significant change and adaptation.
