Practical & compassionate support, delivered with kindness.

Hello, I’m Sarah

I support women as they transition through pregnancy, birth and postpartum, with empathy and without judgement.

I’m married with two children. I enjoy swimming, a great story, jigsaw puzzles and picking up a second hand bargain in a charity shop. Any time alone is spent with Take a Break magazine (for the puzzles!) and a latte.

My background in is engineering and operations management. I’m an organiser, I love a list, or even better, a spreadsheet!  I start packing two weeks before a holiday, I sing loudly to the radio when I drive, I eat too many biscuits, my favourite film has always been Mary Poppins. I’m happiest in sunshine with family and friends and usually have a pair of sunglasses on my head, ever the optimist!

My main doula focus is providing practical help, a listening ear and ensuring you have the time and space to feel like you again. I volunteer weekly as a peer supporter at Cafe Milk in Redhill, a free, infant feeding drop in service. I love listening to life stories, learning something new and being able to make someone else’s day a little brighter.

I’m a positive, friendly, honest and caring person, I don’t pretend to know all the answers but I know where to find them.

Birth & Postnatal Doula in East Surrey

Birth & Postnatal Doula in East Surrey

Isn’t it nice to feel looked after and cared about? I strive to give the families I support this feeling every time we engage. I’m here for you throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Together we can find the answers to your questions, to ease your worries and give you the reassurance you need. I’m kind, practical, honest, straightforward, easygoing, optimistic and radiate positivity. I love to get stuff done, and am very good at practical tasks around the home and using my initiative to see what needs doing before you even need to ask. I am a great listener and will fiercely protect the mothers who choose me as their doula.

I trust in the power of women and truly believe our bodies are capable of birth and feeding, but sometimes a little guidance and support is needed but best left without interventions. My goal is to help you feel nurtured and cared for and with the confidence that your body can do amazing things. During and after birth you deserve to feel like the most important person in the world. I’ll be your biggest cheerleader and celebrate your wins with you not matter how small they might feel. I’ll advocate for you in the medical environment and challenge offerings to ensure you receive the information to make informed decisions. I’m here for your birth partner too, giving reassurance, the opportunity to step out and reground themselves, someone for them to lean on and trust to care for you in their absence. I seek to understand your vision of birth or your fourth trimester and be part of your team to help get your experience as close as possible to those expectations.

Here for you

Your needs are unique, so I offer services tailored to your priorities.

As your birth or postnatal doula I bring a calm, reassuring and supportive presence, guiding you to overcome any fears and replace them with a sense of empowerment as you prepare for childbirth or care for your baby. I will help create a safe space for you, providing the necessary knowledge to help you make informed decisions. Without judgement we will discuss your birth preferences, explore your ideal birth scenario and strategies on how to achieve it.

I stand on the edge of the action encouraging your partner to support you, reassuring them, calming their anxieties and nerves too, Making helpful suggestions but willing to step in at any time to offer them a respite from their emotion without guilt or feeling they’re abandoning you. I hope my support brings you closeness and that I can be burdened with any tasks that neither of you need to be doing in the unique moment of birth or postpartum.

I support hospital, home and theatre births and feel absolutely privileged when families invite me in to their lives for this unique and unforgettable experience.

I love to support infant feeding and encourage you to take advantage of opportunities to get restorative sleep.

Peace of mind
